The moving chronicles

I suppose this blog has become an electronic vehicle for recording the chronicles of Alexander :)

Our moving process has gotten under way (a little late actually).
I intended on starting about three weeks ago, however my laziness prevailed. Now that we know we have the house, it's going to be a lot easier to get stuff done. I can now visualize where everythings going to go, how we're going to decorate and I am continuing my DIY/HGTV addiction and taking mental notes.

I wonder if we could ever get them to come to our house by applying to one of those shows? That would be beyond awesome, and I guess it can't hurt to try! I wonder if there's a strategy for that...

This week we are dog-sitting for my parent's dog Smokey.

As you can see she's a wee bit crazy.

Add this on top of our 4 dogs and ferret... tends to make this household more like a zoo!

Perfect timing to add to the hectic feeling of the house. Oh well, my parents have always been there for me so it's only fair that I offer to help them out as much as I can.

Today so far I've been through: 3 loads of laundry, one load of dishes, two trashbags full of trash. I wonder what my tally will be by the end of the day?
I hope this blog helps me stay on track by giving me a sense of obligation to it.

WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!

Yay! Amazing, awesome... couldn't be more excited. It was just one of those things when you walk into a house and you have a feeling about it.
That feeling is now motivating me to clean pack, and clean some more. We now officially have about a week to get our current house in pristine condition so our landlord can start showing it.
That always makes me nervous, having people traipse through your house with your stuff while you're gone... oh well, it is what it is.

But, YAY!

Bump in the road

We've hit a little snag with our dream home, the owner has expressed concern in our income in that half of it is derived from a self owned and operated business. Our business is fairly new and we don't have the tax records to prove that income.
You would think a flawless rental history (paid more/month every month, on time, for 2 years straight) would count for something.
I've also offered a guarantor, Brad's father, so I'm really hoping it will push her over the edge. We have been really counting on this house and if we lost it because of the income requirement it would be incredibly sad, disappointing and scary... at this point we don't have many other options.

Butterflies like you wouldn't believe.

HGTV is like crack

Couldn't be more addicting when you're about to buy a house, a blank canvas... oh the possibilities.

Now it's just that dreadful waiting game to hear if we are approved and the house is ours. How long will we have to wait? How long will we have to hope and wonder and think of the decorating options!?

It might just be the death of me.
Do you ever find yourself thinking... "gee that would be good to blog about"?

I did, twice yesterday. Guess where I was both times? In my car, driving around... nowhere near a computer.

That's where I think of most things I need to do, while I'm doing something completely different and have no ability to do the thing I just thought of to do. THEN when I am in a position to be doing that thing I need to be doing, do I remember to do it? NO!? That would be too simple, too helpful.

So I vowed to rush home and start my blog, to write about the two bloggable subjects on my mind. And here I am a day later with no earthly idea regarding the subjects I indented to blog about.

BRB - Gone to remember... yeah right. Wish me luck.
